Fantastical Finds!

If you like me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter, (If you don't, links at the bottom.) I updated you guys last weekend about my little shopping trip. Well I finally had the opportunity to get pictures today. I normally don't take pictures on Saturdays, so the fact that I'm even in my contacts is an accomplishment. I did put on a little mascara, but I think my crazy bangs hide it. Anyways, I went to a HUGE consignment sale. Everything was $1! It's complete madness though. Stuff gets thrown everywhere! And you can't really try stuff on, so you kindda have to just risk it. The store has it semi-annually to clear out for the new season. Later, my mom and I went to Burlington Coat Factory and found a fabulous dress for $13! That night, I came home to my "Stylish Surprise" from ModCloth. It was just a great day for fabulous clothes :)

I realize it's towards the end of winter, but this sweater was really light weight when I picked
it up. It's a good transition piece. And I love the color too!

To Anonymous

You know who you are. You've been making nit picky comments on my posts to get to me. Most are quite pointless as they have nothing to do with what I was actually saying in the post. Well I have to say you've been bothering me the past couple days. My friends I tell about you laugh at the ridiculousness of what you say. Up until now, I've refused to publish your comments because they're really just stupid and deconstructive, and I was honestly shocked and hurt when I first saw them. But that attitude is not welcome here. And now I will publish your comments so everyone can see how much of a jerk you are. I ask you to not comment anymore unless it's constructive criticism, but I doubt you will do either of those things. My hope in humanity says otherwise, but we'll see.

Sorry for the late post you guys. Today's been kindda crazy, but I'll put up a real post tomorrow. I know this only pertains really to one person, but it's been bothering me. I felt the need to call out this anonymous commenter in hopes that they would stop.

Will It Ever Be Warm?

Oh my goodness. When will it be above freezing when I leave the house? I don't know, but I hope soon. I'm gettin' real tired of this, Georgia. Ah well. I was wearing my winter coat this morning, but it was warm enough when I took pictures that I could go without. Let me just say that bow ties (besides my hair pieces) have become kind of my signature thing. I don't wear them all the time, but I wear them often enough that people know me for it :)

Stripes on Dots on Stripes

I've been so excited about this black and white trend, and I've wanted to do this for a while. I have this matching striped dress and blazer I've always been curious about wearing together. The thing is, I felt like it needed something to break it up, so I layered a polka dot shirt over the dress. I got compliments all day! I felt super cute, and that made me feel so great after this ridiculously long week! It's still kindda cold here in Georgia. I really thought spring had sprung. Oh well. And another reminder: rehearsals for my school musical are going to pick up so if I post a lot of short posts or Polyvore collages, it's because I really had no time to do anything else. Sorry guys! I didn't edit these photos very much. I really liked the lighting despite the cloudy day, so I kept the editing pretty simple.

Feeling Quirky

So today I was feeling like being different. Just straight up different. And I wanted to do something really unexpected. Something definitely out there for me, and most of Georgia as well. I love unexpected pairings as you can see.

Beating Half and Half Days

You know the one thing that annoys me about spring? Those super obnoxious transition periods. Oh my goodness! It's 30 degrees when I leave the house and 60 when I get home. What? So I came up with a clever solution and it totally worked. First, I started off with a big oversize sweater and floral jeans. (It was windy so my bangs are a gigantic mess.)

Thinking about Prom...

So I've been thinking some about prom lately. I already have my dress, so I don't need this, but I thought y'all might. The past couple years for Homecoming, I've rented my dress from this amazing site! I've loved the customer service and it's a great concept. I cannot justify spending more than $50 on one piece of clothing, and if I do, I better be wearing it ALL THE TIME. Which is why I hate formal occasions because that means big $$$ spent on dresses. Psssst! Every summer they have an annual sale on the dresses they won't offer anymore and aren't in bad shape. A dress that was originally $1500 could be snapped up for $250! (I know that's still a chunk of cash, but it might be worth it eventually.)

So this was Homecoming numero uno. I went with a friend but this is a good solo picture. The dresses are consistently a little darker than pictured.

New Bag

So an update for eBay, those coats didn't sell. I wasn't sure that they would. I'll hang onto them for when it gets a little cooler again. But even better, I have a new bag for you. This Betseyville bag is in great shape with some loose strings here and there. More pictures of the bag itself are available here.

Divergent Inspiration: Candor

One of my favorite books is Divergent by Veronica Roth. One of the interesting things about it is that each of the five factions identify with certain colors that coordinate with what virtue they strive towards. This makes it a great source for inspiration! The Candor identify with black and white because they see the world in black in white. Everything is true or false, fact or fiction. There is no gray area to them. They are the truthful. In this world, they serve as the lawyers, the reporters, and the administrators.

Trend to Try

I've noticed amongst the street style pictures, a trend has been to wear below-the-knee A-line skirts. I love A-line skirts in general. I think they look great on every body type. The past few years though, hemlines had been creeping up or skirts had revealing slits. This more conservative look has me really excited! I'm not into revealing too much, and the look fits my more girly style. And since I have to deal with dress code, this will be my new "go to" style!

Nails!

I love nail art! I love having a cool design on my fingers. It just makes me feel so special. I think the hardest design I'e done was little tuxedos. Those took FOREVER! I've been wanting to try accent nails so here's the outcome!

First Post!

Sooooooooooooo...I haven't been able to post anything for you to buy yet. Actually, technically, if you are a women's size medium or 14, I posted two Kenneth Cole Reaction jackets. One of them is 100% leather. Links below. I know, I know, so disappointing.  But I figured I would show you an outfit at least. I had a college audition yesterday, so this is what I wore. It's cold in Georgia! Oh my goodness! Some of you up north might want to kill me right now because it's like, 40 degrees Fahrenheit. But when you factor in that's it's gusting and humid (which in cold weather makes it COLDER) it's pretty darn cold. I don't know why I want to go to school in New York or Boston... But here we go!

So my yard isn't the prettiest. Forgive me. If you complain I might ask my neighbors to use their yard because they're retired and spend at least 3 days a week just taking care of their yard.
