Pamper Day!

For the first time in a long time, I finally had a day off where I wasn't worrying about A Chorus Line. It was officially over and done and I could relax. Well, for the show, I had to tease my hair a good bit and hair spray the crap out of it so it would stay while I danced. For 7 shows plus 2 dress rehearsals. My hair was done. So I knew I needed to take a day to just take care of myself.

First we have my nails. I wanted something simple after not really doing my nails since I came to school and I couldn't paint them for the show.

Then we moved on to rejuvenating my hair. I looked up simple mask recipes. This one, any of you should be able to do! It's 3 parts coconut oil to 1 part olive oil. I measured in tablespoons and had a ton left over after saturating my hair. Probably for 2 more masks. I suggest if you have my kind of hair, measure in teaspoons.
The mixture was a bit goopy and odd to get used to, but it worked out. Below, you see my very oily bun. I ended up leaving it in for somewhere between 4 and 6 hours. I washed it out in the shower with shampoo. It took shampooing my hair 4 times! But even with all that, my hair felt like silk once it was dry. I HIGHLY suggest this if your hair is feeling any kind of damaged.

So then I had the brilliant idea to make a face mask. This one is 2 parts baking soda to 1 part honey. I discovered something when I was washing off my melty face. This recipe works much better as an exfoliator or scrub with all the baking soda. If you use just a little bit and scrub your face, it feels amazing (discovered when I was taking it off in the shower). It could work as a mask if you use a very thin layer. I did this because I'd had foundation on for a week, and I was sweating, and I was starting to break out on my face.

In the end, it was a nice, relaxing day with not a lot of work to do. I really enjoyed finally having a day off to not worry about rehearsal or an audition or anything. I don't get another one until Thanksgiving break. By the way, I'll be going home with my girlfriend to Kansas. I may try and find some fields for pictures :)
