Dress for the Rain

So today it's raining quite a lot. To the point where our power's gone out. I hope I finish this before my laptop starts dying. Today is not a day where I want to worry about the elements because of my exhaustion, but there are a few simple ways to make it better.
1. Simple is always better on these days. A graphic sweater and colored jeans are your best friend today. Even regular jeans or leggings. No one wants to deal with a flippy skirt when it's raining. Or wet bare legs.

2. Water proof without looking like it. Everyone loves those cute, printed rain boots. Personally, I don't love to be one of a sea of them on rainy days. But that's just me. A good pair of flat boots will do the trick. I personally don't like the look of a plastic rain jacket (but I did include one below), so I've found a water proof jacket that's made of cotton, nylon, and a little spandex.
3. Brighten up the day in simple ways. Whether it's a pop from your lipstick or a blue skies umbrella, find something about your outfit that will make you smile when you look in the mirror. Especially since it's already gloomy outside. And make that special tea you've been saving :)

So whether it's your favorite kind of weather or your least, embrace the rain in your outfit.

  1. That rain coat and umbrella are so adorable! I love that the umbrella has a cloudy print on it, because it's kind of like a little reminder that the storm will pass, haha (:

  2. It has been raining here for most of the week! But it's okay because that means that I can pull out my rainboots and umbrella! Loving that jacket so much with the white and black :)
